UNLOCKING ART IN LANDLOCKED LESOTHO
16 MAY 2025-20 JUNE 2025
Unlocking Art in Landlocked Lesotho is a group exhibition bringing together artists from South Africa and Lesotho, with the intention to set a tone of Meshu Art Gallery goals of selecting the highest quality works, working with artists who value being key players in the art industry. Unlocking Art in Landlocked Lesotho redefines what it means to break through the confines of how we have previously consumed art in the country, and allows us to rethink how we would like to place ourselves in the global art community.
Through our collaboration with Artist Proof Studio based in Johannesburg, a leading printmaking institution with a reputable track record, we aim to highlight how we engage with printmaking, and how local artists can tap into this medium. Featured artworks include forms such as screenprinting, linocut, silkscreen, etching, monotypes etc. Our emphasis is on how artists can think carefully about how artists can not only experiment with printmaking, but how that can widen how local artists approach their own work.
The exhibition will run from the 16th May, until the 20th of June with participating artists:
